I took the dental assisting program evenings. My teachers were great and knowledgeable but overall the course is rushed and huge waste.

You spend time on things youโ€™ll never need to know yet donโ€™t spend enough time on the basics. The curriculum is all over the place. They donโ€™t take into consideration the evening class may have single moms who actually need to work full time. Iโ€™d get home at 11pm and have a bunch of irrelevant homework not to mention studying for the ridiculous amounts of quizzes and tests.

The projects you need to do are those similar to those you did in elementary school i.e poster board and coloring. Donโ€™t get me wrong studying is important, homework every single night is not. When it comes time for your externship you need 25hrs a week and can only do mon-fri, no weekends so you have to give up your full time job. The guy who did my resume did a awful job, my son couldโ€™ve typed up something better.

I found spelling errors so sent it back for him to edit. Never responded. When you go look for a job the starting pay isnโ€™t great and in my case the student loan is outrageous. How can i work for $13-15 an hr, pay my bills and my now $320 student loan?

The program cost close to $18,000 so in my case was nothing but wasted time and wasted money. It may be much different for people who donโ€™t have children and a mortgage payment. The girls i went to school with still lived at home w parents so for them perhaps it worked out but these schools need to take into consideration the average pay of the career course youโ€™re taking and lower the tuition. You shouldโ€™nt leave there with huge loans and a almost minimum wage โ€œcareerโ€, I can make more money at a certain coffee shop and grocery shop down the road and wouldnโ€™t have a huge loan to repay.

For me it didnโ€™t work out. For many others it does.

Reason of review: Bad quality.
